Jeremy Pelt: Tomorrow’s Another Day

Possessor of the baton from Freddie  Hubbard, trumpeter Jeremy Pelt uses his gorgeous tone on this album that gives ideas going back to the soul jazz days of CTI records. Brining in a team of Jalen Baker/vib, Alex Wintz/g, Leighton McKinley Harrell/b, Allan Mednard-Deantoni Parks/dr and Frank LoCastro/keyp, Pelt is mellow with the vibes on a seductive “No A.I.” and veers graceffully on “Basquiat”. The hand  percussion and subdued vibes create a mist for Pelt on “Amma Is Here” , with Wintz’s guitar  a mellow mist duet on “People”. Laid back loving.
