Intimate voiced Chiara Izzi duets with pianist Andrea Rea for a 2018 concert recorded “live” in a Bremen German studio. The seven pieces are alluring conversations, all serene and gentle. The two are gentle partners on the muted “Miradas” while Izzi’s tender Spanish enunciations make the lyrics to “Tu, Musica Divina” almost palpable. Rea’s fingers create a stark mood for “Samba In P reludio” and is given time to build up to a dramatic climax on “ Terra Nostra” , adding Chopinesque nocturnes to “Cuerpo Y Alma” and mystical impressions to the fragrant “Pavane For Peaceful Times”. Whispers of wonder.
