The debut album by alto saxist jonathan Suazo, guitarist Gabriel Vicens and drummer Leonardo Osuna focuses on nine “EXT” titled pieces that create dark and impressionistic sonic images. The team trudges to thick chords and a bluesy alto on “EXT I” while Suazo puffs through the staccato beat of a King Crimsonish “EXT II”. Tones similar to Bill Frisell are picked on “EXT IV” and Suazo delivers some EWI tones as the team plays peek-a-boo on “EXT VII”.
