Baritone vocalist John Minnock takes songs we’re all familiar with, but puts them through a Waring Blender to create completely different moods than originally intended. With Enrique Haneine/p-key, Carlos Mena-Will Woodard/b and Pablo Eulchans-Diego Voglino/dr, Minnock delivers a nourish mood for “Get Happy” and gets Headhunter funky for “Right Around the Corner” before going triple time on a run to the finish line “I Love Being Here With You.” Guitarist Tony DePaolo joins in for a lovely “Moon River” and guest Dave Liebman brings his soprano sax in for a hip modal take of “New York, New York” and a wondrously intimate duet for “Skylark.” This guy works without a net, but never falls off the trapeze!
