Jeremy Nail: My Mountain

Jeremy Nail plays a plethora of guitars on this album with Bobby Daniel/b, Chris Masterson/g and Chris Searles/dr while his voice has a light and almost feminine whisper to it. He’s got a subtoned vocal delivery on the easy and bluesy rock on the title track, with other electric guitar work creating echo effects and atmospheres as on the fuzzy “Down To The Ocean” and “Dreams.” He gets more minstrel when he switches to acoustic guitar, creating intimate moods on “Tell Me What Else You Got” and telling laid back stories on “The Great Mystery” and “Survive.” There are some impressive string solos as on the boogie’d ‘Heroes” but Nail and company are more into painting portraits here, and it works pretty well.
