The roots of all music American is on display here as Mark Wenner/harp-voc, Paul Bell/g-voc, Johnny Castle/b-voc and Mark Stutso/dr-voc use an acoustic prism to display various shades of the blues. Originals and covers dot the set, with a rockabilly read of “Matchbox” and a shuffling/shouting “Tiger In Your Tank” going down nice and easy. Wenner’s harp howls on the strolling “Walkin’ After Midnight” and boogies on the sweaty Delta “Rock This House.” Chicago styles guitars thump from Bell on “Rolin’ Stone” and the rhythm gets some dirt under their nails on “Down To My Last Million Tears.” Not a glib riff in the bag.
