Kaisahan: Afrocubalintan

Do you love drumming? I mean, do you LOVE drumming?

This album is a percussion fans paradise, featuring four different artists, namely Conrad Benedicto, Bo Razon, Chris Trinidad, Mario Salomon and Jose Sanchez playing mostly hand instruments including, but not limited to (take a deep breath) congas, itotele, clave, bongo, kulintang, babendil, chekere, quinto, agung, okonkolo and dabakan, just for starters. The result is a Pier One Imports collection of sounds, filled with tribal tones and drives as on “Dabakonga” with a relaxing steel drum’d something on “Arara con Saranay y Garndingan” and some marimba’d doo dad sending out a morse code message on the swinging “Kangungudan a Bembe” and ”Kapacomparsa”. Lots of clavees as on “Descarga con Duyog” and various callouses are developed on the hand percussion pieces such as “Tidtu a Makuta”

Is there a dance show to go along?
