Steve Shapiro plays marimba, vibes, electric mallet keyboards and other percussive things with core team of Mark Egan/eb, drummers Joel Rosenblatt-Carter McLean, guitarists Oz oy-Shane Theriot-Pat Bergeson, saxist Jeff Coffin and vocalist Lucy Woodward. The sounds are upbeat and smooth, with Woodward adding lovely voice to “Extremely Moderate” and the keys getting classical on a dreamy “I Am Not A Robot”. The vibes team well with Egan on the pretty and spacious “Outono” and Egan laying down one of his patented lines on the title tune . Things get pretty kinetic with the marimba on “Chrome Dinette” and the team is peppy on the happy “Candygram for Mongo”. Happy vibes.
