The Strongman Blues Remedy: Volume 1

Rough and ready Steve Strongman plays guitar, harmonica and bass along with Jesse O’Brien/keys, Alec Fraser/b, Dave King/dr and a collection of guests on this collection of blues rockers. His voice is reminiscent of Humble Pie’s Steve Marriott, rollicking along the slide guitar on “Hard Luck” and shuffling on “White LIghtnin’”. Steve Marriner adds a vocal grit and rich harmonica on the stampede of “Swansong” with Dawn Tyler Watson serving up some easy blues on “Fine Young Man”. The organ simmers with Harrison Kennedy teaming up on “I Don’t Miss  You” with the guitar lines thick and palpable on “Love Comin’ Down”. A blue plate special served piping hot.
