Chris Antonik: Morningstar

Singer/guitarist/writer Chirs Antonik paints it black on this collection of hard hitting metallic originals. There’s an Aerosmithean swagger to the guitar work and vocals to pieces like “Back TO The Good” while anthem like hooks dominate tunes such as “Pilgrim” and the ballad “Trust In Me” that are reminiscent of the 70s group Boston. There’s some thunderous hitting and echoey tones on “Waves of Stone” as well as some country musings provide by Burke Carrol on the rural “In Our Home”. Alison Young adds some mellow synth to ANtoniks spartan guitar on the tasty “The Greatest Of The Americans (Part I) with the team of Guenther Kapelle/b, Alan Zemaitis/p-key, Paul Deslauriers/g, Riley O’Connor rock hard on “Learning To Love You” and swamp through the stomping “We’re Not Alone”. The jams are kicked outta here.
