Alto saxist Daniele Germani leads a quartet with Jongkuk Kim/dr, Giuseppe Cucchiara/b and Justin Salisbury/p through a mix of songs and segues. There are a handful of concise pieces such with Germani gasping on “No Clouds In the Air”, Cucchiara giving an aria on “Eres Luz Variatin” and a fuzzy “Salisbury Introduces YLWFBL”, as well as an abstract “No Clouds In The Air”. For the longer pieces, there is a tensile rubato in “They Move In On The Action” and dark hues for “In the Fields of The Unconscious”. Most pretty is Germani’s work with Salisbury on “Eres Luz” and the lyrical and breathy “But It Doesn’t Mean It’s Danger Free”. Dark earth tones.
