Dave Bryant plays piano and a wide variety of keyboards in a trio setting with bassits Charnett Moffett and Gregg Bendian, who works out on drums, percussion and more exotic things like the glockenspiel and doumbek. Bryant’s keyboard work gives hint of the soulful hints of Weather Rpoert on “Scorpio 80”, the fusiony and intricate “Chihuahua Pearl”and the wild synthy Middle Eastern ride of “Three Night Visitors Part II”. Bendian is kinetic on the electric and aggressive “In Transit” while keeping things busy undercurrent as Bryant goes a bit classical on “Confidential”. Moffett’s bowed bass suddenly pops the clutch and goes rapidly strumming on “Skywritten” and is richly atmospheric on the crystalline “Three Night Visitors Part I”. Jams and gels.
