If you saw the movie, “La Vie En Rose”, then you’ve heard Jil Airgot’s honey toned voice balm your ears. This disc goes a bit further, presenting her in a French cabaret type trio consisting of piano, bass and accordion which presents a musical tribute to Chanson legend Edith Piaf. As dreamy as a walk along the Seine at 1 am, “Words Of Love” carries with it an ambience akin to a bohemian street minstrel. While not strictly jazz, the music and voice tap into a style that that transcends styles.
