Anjulie is the latest in the growing group known as QFS (Quirky Female
Singers). No images of angst, lust, drudgery, insolence or bawdiness.
It’s all catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics and self-conscious
nervousness here with Anjulie. It works and works well with tunes like
“Boom” and “Crazy That Way.” I’m not too sure about the foul language;
she hasn’t learned yet that people curse when they’ve run out of
ideas. Hopefully it’s just youthful ignorance and not the slide into
ennui.
