Cellist Joan Jeanrenaud and drummer/electronic percussionist PC Munoz team up for 37 minutes of original music that is fascinatingly frustrating. Ms. Jeanrenaud’s compositions are intriguing; sort of a mix between synth-pop and classical. Her cello work is intriguing, but the problem is with the rhythmic support. Munoz’s background sounds come off like one of those keyboard salesmen you see in malls, playing catchy riffs with various effects in order to make a sale. Sort of kitschy more than artsy, which unfortunately detracts from the intriguing writing.
