Pianist Bob Gluck, teamed with Joe Giardullo/ss and Christopher Sullivan/b, put out an album long on quiet meanderings and short on melodies. The seven songs stretch form 7-12 minutes, ranging from the free formed “October Song” to the semi-bopping “Sideways.” Gluck has a ruminative touch, as he shows on his solo excursion on “Dolphin Dance,” and broods like Janis Ian on “Going Away.” Sort of like background music for an indie film, not taking you anywhere except to the back roads of your mind.
