Here’s a singer with a nice and confident voice that has some fun with the standards. Patty Cronheim teams up with the professionals Aaron Welman/p-key, Brian Glassman/b, Corey Rawls/dr, Greg Wall/ts-ss, Clifford Adams/tb and Audrey Welber/as for a modern take of mainstream material. Her delivery is relaxed and assertive, delivering the lyrics on “I Feel The Heat” and “Days Like These” with authority. She does a clever retake of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” as well as a spruced up “Summertime.” She has a way of respecting the song, but not getting over-awed by it. Nice way to spend an hour!
